Planning Ahead: 5 Wrestlers I Want To See at WWE Royal Rumble 2014

By Big Dave from SLN More Blogs by This Author

Each year, WWE's Royal Rumble pay per view event features a wide array of competitors, including returning competitors of years past, returns of main roster superstars, and guest appearances of all shapes and sizes. Notable entries have included everyone from comedian and The Price is Right host Drew Carey to 1990's wrestler Diesel, and even hardcore wrestling legend Mick Foley pulling triple-duty and appearing as Dude Love, Mankind, and Cactus Jack in a single rumble.

Needless to say, it's always wishful thinking when any fan dares to predict (read: wish) for specific surprise or return entrants to the Royal Rumble match, but this is a list of my top 5 wishes for the 2014 event.

5. Kanye West

Rapper Kanye West has made recent headlines after his controversial attack on a member of the paparazzi. With a love-him-or-hate-him personality, guest starring in the Royal Rumble could really shake up the show. It would be interesting to see which segment of the fans are ultimately appeased, though — the ones that want to see him get beat to hell by babyface WWE superstars, or the ones that want to see him use some serious force and hold his own before the portion of the script with his elimination.

4. Al Snow

Despite currently working in TNA Wrestling, Al Snow would make a great surprise entrant for WWE Attitude-era fans. Fans of this variety will recall Al's ridiculous antics as part of the JOB Squad, his infatuation with a mannequin head prop, and his awkward tag team with Steve Blackman. What does everybody want? Al Snow in the Royal Rumble!

3. Johnny Knoxville

Actor, stuntman, and host of MTV's Jackass Johnny Knoxville is no stranger to the WWE. Having guest starred on RAW may have given him the opening for a future surprise Royal Rumble appearance, but the true preparation lies in his numerous painful stunts over the years, including a Jackass: The Movie scene where boxer Butterbean knocks him out during a boxing match in a department store.

2. Spike Dudley

OK, I admit it. I'm a huge Spike Dudley nerd/fan, and always have been. Despite being routinely overshadowed by his storyline brothers, he's made headlines in the wrestling world on more than one occasion. Spike's most memorable moments include getting comeuppance and winning the WWE European Championship from William Regal in a matter of seconds, calling out Stone Cold Steve Austin after remarks were made about his storyline love interest, Molly Holly, and an insane number of bumps in ECW and the WWE. (Including being thrown through two flaming tables!) A one night return for nostalgic fans could be the little surprise that makes the rumble that much better.

1. Kharma

Following her shocking debut in the WWE, personal life interrupted Kharma's career. After a surprise appearance in the 2012 Royal Rumble wherein she took out a few men and filled Michael Cole's pants with feces, a 2014 Royal Rumble return would be a tremendous kickstart to her WWE career — one we can only hope would rival her TNA run as Awesome Kong.
