Has anyone tried lactose-free milk?

Lactose intolerance has been on my mind a lot lately, as I seem to be having more problems digesting milk as of late. I typically don't drink a lot of milk, but I was starting to miss my morning bowl of cereal! Anyway, I was grocery shopping yesterday and came across lactose-free milk and thought I'd give it a try. I was amazed - it tastes just like the 2% I would normally drink, and I haven't had any trouble digesting it so far! Obviously, it's more expensive than regular milk (over double the price, actually) but it's kind of nice for a little splurge every once in a while. Have any of you tried lactose-free milk? Have you had any successes with it?

Are you lactose intolerant? What helps?

I've read varying statistics about how many Americans are lactose intolerant -  sometimes from 30 to 50 million, sometimes even 1 in every 3. Regardless of which is correct, it's a huge number. I've been trying to cut down on milk more lately, because after suffering some digestive difficulties, I'm starting to think I may be at least slightly lactose intolerant. Are you lactose intolerant? If so, have you found anything that helps?
