Dog has Scabies, Mange, Mites

Hi Dr. My cavalier was 99% diagnosed with scabies and she was on Ivermectin and an antibiotic for secondary skin infection... since that time she has greatly improved.. I just ordered Defendex and was wondering if that will help get rid of any possible leftover scabies.. Your reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Cheryl

Kitten has ear mites

Hi, my kitten has ear mites, and I am using ear mite medicine for him. His ears are a little pink, is that from the mites eating at his ears? Will his ears go back to their normal color? Mary

My dog has mites, please help!

I have a black and tan coon hound that is 10 months old. She has been treated for mites since April, and she takes Simplicef 200mg for the second time once a day and Ivomec1.2 everyday and she is not getting better. I am concerned about these meds in her. I am not a fan of meds anyway. Would your product help her. She still is scratching an loosing hair everyday. Diane

My cat has Dermatitis, please help!

I have been treating my cat for a very bad case of dermatitis with Derma-IonX and Defendex for at least 2 months now. He still needs prednisolone every day. When I lower his dose of prednisolone he breaks out worse again. I cant get him to take the Omega 3/6/9. It is not worth the fight to try and give it by mouth using a dropper. And he wont eat it on his food. The Derma-IonX has helped he doesn't constantly lick himself but he still does more than my other cats. And I have been giving him a teaspoon or more a day of it. He's on a special grain free diet, of hydrolized protien, vet ordered. The bathing with Defendex doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there anything else I can do for him. He is overweight and can not keep his bottom clean so I do have to keep that area clean for him. He started gaining weight when he was started on the prednisolone. He wasn't always overweight. I try to stick to the recommended limit for his food, but it is hard because he begs constantly by crying and sitting by his covered dish or following us constantly. We try to be careful not to track grass inside & I vaccum constantly and don't wear our outside shoes inside the house. Should I have blood tests done and if I do how long will he have to be off his prednisolon to get correct results. Any suggestions would be gratly appreciated. I am due to order more Derma-IonX since I'm getting low on my last bottle.

Dog with skin irritation possible mites?

Our Labrador/Border Collie has skin irritation on his thigh area. He licks the skin and the coat has come out. We have been using Derma-Ionx which seems to work and the skin grows back in that area but then he keeps licking into another area next to the one which is better. He also has crusty skin around the outside of his ears and we have been putting vaseline on that which keeps clearing up but the crusty skin keeps moving away from that area into another area as well. I read about Defendex. That appears will fix the skin/coat but does it get rid of the mites (if that is what is the problem)? If not, what can we use to stop the mites cycle.  -Marilyn-

Dog Might Have Mites, HELP!?

First Thank you for what you do!! My 12 week 1.5 lb Yorkie is ripping and scabbing his skin. The reason I think it is mites is both my husband and I are itching. For a week I have small spots like little bites. He is chewing on his legs and scratching his hind quarters and loosing his hair. I ordered the combo but wondered if I should still use a pesticide? I don't want to hurt him. If I don't use a pesticide how do I get rid of them from everywhere? From what I understand re-infestation can keep happening. He actually yipes hurting himself scratching, it breaks my heart please help. Thank you again, Karen

Last night while inspecting my 13 guinea pigs. They all have a significant amount of hair loss all over there back and hind-end. Does this product take care of most parasites? I just don't have the $650 to take all well just the guinea pigs to the vet! -Jeffrey-
