How do you think your hair affects other's judgement of you?

I'm working on a blog right now and I'm looking for some outside perspective. How do you think your hair reflects your personality? Do you think people ever judge it inaccurately? Have you ever made a major change to it? How did it change the way you felt about yourself? Do you think it changed the way you were judged by others?

Dachshund has itchy skin, please help?

My mini dachshund is 3 years old and she has itcy skin.  I've tried maaawash shampo, now aloween oatmeal shampoo, conditioner, and confortis flea tablet once a month.  But she chews her front feet and her skin is very dry, like dandruff on her back, her belly is hot, now the vet (which by the way is new to us we've just moved here) told me to give her phenergan 10mg twice a day.  This makes her sleepy, but has not stopped the problem during her waking hours, people have told me epsom salts, cider vinegar or baking soda in cold water for a bath can you suggest anything for her skin.  It is not broken or bleeding or has sores.  -Lyn-

Dog is Experiencing Itchy Skin

I have been giving my beagle Derma-IonX twice a day (3/4 tsp) for 2 weeks. The itching on his belly and his back around the tail area hasn't ceased at all. This has been going on for a long time..he's had prednisone, diflucan, benedryl, and now cetrizine. I had him bathed at the vet's office the other day. This is costing me more than I can afford..I am a sr citizen on a low income. My husband has mild dementia and was just transferred from the hospital to a nursing facility for rehab because of congestive heart failure. The dog's itching is so stressful to me because I don't know what else to do. What  brand of food and flavor do you feed your dog? Shiloh's dry food is Rachael Ray both the chicken and the beef mix. Moist food: I cook it myself: Chicken breast, some beef at times, peas, carrots, some rice.  I cool it, remove most of the congealed fat, then use food processor to grind it. Do you give any supplements?  I give him a multi vitamin, brewer's yeast, joint supplement has he supposedly has a genetic joint problem on his rear leg, pro biotic, Dr's order: 100 mg fish oil, some tumeric sprinkled on his moist food. Has your dog any fleas recently?  I comb Shiloh daily with a fine tooth comb. Have only seen 1 or 2 fleas. The black dirt I find is not bloody, it is dirt. I do not use flea stuff all the time. I sometimes use diatamaceous earth. How old is your dog ?  Shiloh will be 5 years old in Feb. 2013. He is a rescue dog. Do you have any suggestions for me, if so, I'd appreciate. Thank you, -Linda-

Worsening skin problems for 10 yr old Wheaton

For the past few years Irie has had black patches, worts, and now soft lumps on her back and stomach. She has been treated by vet with antibiotics repeatedly and lately steroids..these work but only temporary..trying to control her diet and feeding her sweet potato/duck dog. She scratches but doesn't seem miserable. What can we do??? The lumps and rash are getting worse and worse! -Cammy-

Worst Atopic Dermatitis

Hi, Ive consulted a doctor lately regarding my atopic dermatits and according to her, I have the worst case she have seen in her entire life. Today, it gotten worst too. Is there still cure for this? I havent tried any products not even the prescribed prods the doctor adviced me (too pricey). She also mentioned this laser/uv like thing to me but did not elaborate and to think its much cheaper than what she recommend me to buy. Is there any way to cure it? My self-esteem is very low now because of this. Your advice would be very helpful. And oh! If you want to see how it looks like now, I can upload a picture. Thank you in advance, Donna

Dermatitis vs. Psoriasis

I just finished taking an anti-inflammatory steroid drug for another medical problem, and I noticed that I have dandruff coming back, which I haven't experienced since starting the steroid. From what I've read, psoriasis (which I also have) can cause dandruff similar to the standard dermatitis type, but steroid treatments can cause it to go away. Is it possible that psoriasis is causing my dandruff? If so, are there OTC dandruff treatments that will help just the same as with regular dandruff?
