Nori Burgers

This is a cross between a nori make roll and a hamburger. There is no meat in the recipe but it is as savory as a burger with a healthy twist

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes w/ leftover rice

Ingredients:

  1. 1 × Sheet of toasted nori sea vegetable
  2. cup cooked brown rice at room temperature
  3. 2 Tsp toasted sesame tahini
  4. ½ carrot
  5. 1 in. piece daikon radish
  6. 1 Tsp shoyu
  7. 1 Tsp toasted sesame oil
  8. 1 × small bowl of water for wetting hands

You may also need:

A Pot, Kitchen Knife, Skillet

Step 1:

put nori sheet on clean, dry surface. wet hands and make a ball with the rice, place in center of nori sheet.


Step 2:

with moist hands flatten ball just a little. cut carrot and daikon into matchsticks and steam or boil until softened


Step 3:

drizzle rice with tahini and add carrot and daikon matchsticks, pressing down into rice.


Step 4:

wet hands and fold corners of nori over the center of the rice ball. The moisture of your hands will make the nori stick together and it will be like a little box.


Step 5:

take small skillet and heat sesame oil. Put nori burger in pan and let sit for about 45 seconds to a minute. Flip over and let sit 45 seconds. Turn off heat and add shoyu. Flip again quickly so that both sides are coated lightly with the oil and shoyu.


Step 6:

Enjoy!
