My beautiful poodle, Cooper is developing cataracts. My other adopted poodle, Martin, has hip dysplasia and I was considering Arthro-IonX for him. They both have a very bland diet of chicken breast and rice as they are 2 very fussy boys that would rather starve than eat any sort of science diet and Cooper does not have good teeth.  What do you recommend for Cooper?

Dear Teresa,

For Copper the homeopathic remedy Calc carb could be helpful for the cataracts. It is contained in Arthro-IonX and in Dia-IonX. You might want to try Arthro-IonX so that you could give it to both dogs. If you want to attempt eye drops, you could try eye drops made from diluted Cineraria (this has been used to manage cataracts in dogs).

Arthro-IonX could be helpful for Martin to reduce inflammation. I think you need to balance their diet with minerals or some type of green vegetables. It is not easy giving a balanced to little dogs. They are very good at demanding what they want.

Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
