Health Questions & Answers

Our dog has been using your product now for 2 weeks, but has a very bad odor now on the skin, I was advise by the CS rep it may be a yeast infection. I would like to know your thoughts on this and what kind of food should we feed him since he does seem to have a skin problem and now possible a yeast infection. We currently feed him Canidae Life Stages they have a grain free as well. Is that for him to eat? Do you have any other suggestions? I will follow up with a vet for the yeast issue if you believe this could be it. I also wanted to make sure the Derma-IonX has nothing to do with the yeast problem because there was not odor until we started using this product just the skin redness and itching were there. THANKS

Dear Terrie,

It might be a yeast infection or the body detoxifying. It would be good to have it checked out. What does the skin look like now? I would also use PROBIOTICS to counter any yeast or bacteria. You could also decrease the dose of DERMA-IONX in half for a few days to see what changes occur.

It would be better to feed the grain free version of food. If your dog is not allergic to fish or turkey I would choose one of these as the protein source. Please keep us updated.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
