Health Questions & Answers

Good Evening! I have a Black Labrador Retriever who is 11 years old and was diagnosed 4 years ago with Cauda Equina Syndrome in his back. He also cannot bend down well at all because his neck also hurts him. The Vet recommended 4 years ago to give him Zeel pain relief and Traumeel Arthritis Remedy for this diagnosis. Can he take this Arthro-Ionx or would it not help for Cauda Equina Syndrome? Any help I would appreciate it. Thanks. Sue

Dear Sue,

I would try Promaxol first. Promaxol would be a good choice for your dog. It contains the stronger LM potencies. After improvement is seen, then you can switch over to Arthro-IonX. In addition, it is helpful to give digestive enzymes with each meal, MSM, probiotics, vitamin C, and fish oil. I would also recommend a choline supplement such as Geri-Form, which can be obtained from veterinarians. The oligotherapeutic mineral base found in the IonX products helps the body to better utilize the other nutritional substances given for a synergistic response and faster healing. Also be sure to give sufficient fresh water that is free of chlorine and fluoride. If you can gradually phase into a grain-free diet, that can be helpful too. The other thing that is sometimes beneficial is to have a certified veterinary chiropractor check for spinal alignment and make any corrections as necessary. Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
