I have a 12 to 13 year old Basset that we rescued 2 years ago from a puppy mill. She has lost most of her bottom teeth from having so many litters over the years and as a result of the litters, her hips are in pretty arthritic shape. When the weather changes we have to watch her close and administer Tramadol and Rimadyl for inflammation. Due to the heat in our area (Houston) I am unable to take her for walks. She is slightly over weight at 70 lbs. The other evening she wanted on the couch. She will jump up and put her paws on the couch and I do the rest supporting her hind quarters. She stepped into a crevice between the cushions and either strained her foot or reaggravated a muscle pull on the left side of her back. My question is which one of the products will do her the most good. Arthro-Ionx or Promaxol. Also, I noted in reading that the products are Internal + External, but the literature on the website makes no mention of applying to a sore area. Can the products be rubbed on in addition to giving by mouth. She is Daddy's baby or I'm hers, not sure which. LOL Please advise. I don't like giving her over a couple of days worth of the prescription stuff due to her age and everything even though her blood work is better than mine.
