Health Questions & Answers

I have a 9 1/2 boxer with very bad hip problems. I have been giving her glaucosamine and started her on arthro-ionx on 4/4/11. Are these 2 products safe together. My veterinarian prescribed pain pills but she is so tired on them that she won't even get up to eat. Approximately how long will this product take to work if problem is pretty severe. I want to give it time to work before I determine if it is helping. Would the promaxol work better?

I would try Promaxol to reduce the pain and help healing to begin. Promaxol would be a good choice for your dog. It contains the stronger LM potencies. After improvement is seen, then you can switch over to Arthro-IonX. In addition, it is helpful to give digestive enzymes with each meal, MSM, probiotics, vitamin C, and fish oil. The oligotherapeutic mineral base found in the IonX products helps the body to better utilize the other nutritional substances given for a synergistic response and faster healing. It is safe to use with glucosamine or prescription medicine. Also be sure to give sufficient fresh water that is free of chlorine and fluoride. If you can gradually phase into a grain free diet, that can be helpful too. The other thing that is sometimes beneficial is to have a certified veterinary chiropractor check for spinal alignment and make any corrections as necessary. Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions. Usually most pets start to make small improvements quickly, but to be fair you should allow several months because true healing does take time.

Best wishes,
