I have a 12 year old lab with kidney and liver failure and arthritis. He has been on Levothyroxine since 9 months of age. He is also currently taking gabapentin and tramadol for arthritic pain. I am a Vet Tech and searching for something to give for arthritis so I can get him off these presciption pain meds. I have looked into Adequan but caution is advised for liver and kidney problems. Would Vetionx help my dog and is it okay to give to a dog with renal and hepatic problems? Please advise.

Dear Ngiare,

You can use PROMAXOL or ARTHRO-IONX if there is liver or kidney failure. You might want to start with PROMAXOL to reduce the pain and help healing to begin. PROMAXOL would be a good choice for your dog because it contains the stronger LM potencies. After improvement is seen then you can switch over to ARTHRO-IONX or you can just begin with ARTHRO-IONX. In addition it is helpful to give Probiotics with each meal and Omega 3,6,9 daily. The oligotherapeutic mineral base found in the IONX products helps the body to better utilize the other nutritional substances given for a synergistic response and faster healing. Also be sure to give sufficient fresh water that is free of chlorine and fluoride. If you can gradually phase into a grain free diet that can be helpful too. The other thing that is sometimes beneficial is to have a certified veterinary chiropractor check for spinal alignment and make any corrections as necessary. Proper spinal alignment can help reduce stress on the joints.

Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
