Health Questions & Answers

Hi, I have an English Cocker spaniel she is 3 and has never had any health problems about 3 months ago she started having a very itchy back if you would pet her she would spaz out. Took her to the vet and she has been on prednisone for the 3 week cycle and baths 2 times a week along with omega tri-v liquid in her food. Just started another dose of prednisone, I just ordered the Derma-IonX hoping this will help. She is 25 pounds could you tell me the application I should use by mouth or spray and any other hints would be great, she has been miserable. Thank you very much for any info.

Dear Mary,

DERMA-IONX is helpful for a variety of skin conditions. It stimulates the enzyme systems in the body and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. I would give a half dose of DERMA-IONX on the breakfast and supper food. After there are signs of improvement you can give a whole dose once a day. Because you are using steroids you will need to give the homeopathic at a different so the body can focus on the homeopathic without interference from the drug.

I would also give Probiotics. Usually one needs to restore the gut flora especially after having used steroids. OMEGA 3,6,9 would also be helpful to decrease inflammation and itchiness.

I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. What kind of food are you feeding?

You might want to try DEFENDEX shampoo. The essential oils in it are very helpful and can provide relief.

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you along the way.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
