Health Questions & Answers

Our 10 year old Rottweiler - x - doberman dog has urinary incontinence. We have her on 1mg Stilbesterol but am wondering if you have something more natural to offer. She gets one of these every 5 or 6 days to help with the incontinence. Thanks

Dear Dora,

You could try some DERMA-IONX because it contains some remedies that are listed to be helpful with urinary incontinence. I would give a half dose twice daily with breakfast and supper. In addition you could get some alfalfa extract from a health food store. The suggested starting dose is is .2ml per 5 pounds of body weight, divided into 2 daily doses. It is effective in some cases of hormone responsive urinary incontinence. If something else is needed your veterinarian could prescribe phenylpropanolamine to help tighten the bladder sphincter. You can also give Geri-Form to aid the nerves. Please let us know how you do.

Best wishes,
