My sheltie, 9 years old, was diagnosed last spring with this condition. She had open sores on back and sides only. I strongly believe it was brought on by a injection of a lyme vaccine. After biopsies, special shampoos and steroids she has cleared up. The vet said she should stay on steroids or it will come back yet does not know what caused it. Her hair has grown back partially since surgery. She seems fine is healthy and eats Wellness dog food for seniors. I am contemplating making her food. Will your product help replace the steroids. Also what are the ingredients? Are they herbals? Thank you.

Dear Kathy,

Since there are negative side effects from long term steroid use, I think it would be worth trying the homeopathic DERMA-IONX giving a half dose twice daily on the breakfast and supper food and gradually decreasing the steroid dose. You can determine how much you can lower the steroid dose. If the condition worsens go back to previous dose for a while before trying to decrease again. DERMA-IONX is homeopathic and not herbal. I would also use PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to aid the skin. Be patient allowing the body time to heal from the inside outward.

Best regards,
