Health Questions & Answers

I have a mixed 9 yearr old dog that developed terrible skin issues. I've spent thousands of dollars, had him at 4 different vets, and no one seems to be able to help with the problem. This last vet said maybe staph infection. He has been on expensive antibiotics on and off for a year. I was told today maybe you want to get him to vet specializing in allergys. I am trying everything I can think of to help my poor baby. I am a senior citizen on social security and as much as I hate to admit it, I have limited income. I think the problem started when I used frontline plus on him for fleas. I have thrown out carpeting, steamed mopped floors disinfected my patio, washed dog bedding in hot water. Bathed the dog 1x a week and he is a big boy no easy feat with one bathroom in the house. if this is a staph infection will your product help?

Dear Carole,

DERMA-IONX could be helpful for your dog. Initially I like to split the dose in half and give it twice daily on the breakfast and supper. After some improvement is seen you can give the whole dose once a day. I would also give probiotics and Omega 3,6,9 to help rebuild the immune system and reduce inflammation. If your water contains chlorine use filtered water for drinking and bathing. What kind of food and treats do you give?

You might also want to shampoo with DEFENDEX. The essential oils in it are very helpful.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or keep us updated and we can help guide you.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
