Dicken's fur ways appears to be greasy and mats easily he is a maine coon mix. When I pet him he is fine until I move down his back and then he bits me. What is causing this issue? I have used Derma-IonX but did not see any difference. He was a rescue and extremely loving but just becomes initated when I try to brush or touch the lower back area.

Dear Joan,
I think Dickens has pain along his back preventing him to groom. I would give PROMAXOL. It helps to decrease pain, inflammation, and stiffness and stimulate healing. Initially I would give a half dose with breakfast and again at supper. After improvement is seen you can decrease to a whole dose once daily. In addition I find it helpful to follow a holistic approach by giving nutritional supplements to accompany the homeopathic. I would also use PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to reduce inflammation and strengthen the body. What type of food and water are you giving?
I would also suggest an evaluation by a veterinary chiropractor. If a correction is needed, that can allow Dickens to move more freely and groom that area.
Looking forward to your reply.
