My 5 lb 5 yr old yorkie just recently started scratching himself alot. We thought it might be fleas so we put Frontline on him. He also has small bumps on his back. After 3 weeks he is still digging and scratching. Also, during the day we put a diaper on him while we are at work, could this be the problem? Brian

Dear Brian,

Have you used a flea comb and seen any fleas or flea dirt in the fur? If there is a dark speck place it on a white paper towel and add a drop of water. If it bleeds out red then it is flea debris. It is possible that there are some fleas even though you have used Frontline. If there have been no fleas, then it is possible the diaper is irritating your dog or your dog may have allergies. You might want to try our homeopathic Derma-IonX to reduce the itchiness. It is easy to administer by adding a small amount to the food. Ten drops twice a day would be sufficient.

Please let us know if there are any fleas or if it is allergies and we can offer more suggestions.

Best regards, Dr. Char
