My dog is about seven months old and her fur has started to fall out at first it was just on her face and it eventually spread to her neck back and legs. It is very dry and raised up and all the fur has started falling out. At first I thought it was a form of mange but its not on any of my other dogs. She has scratched her neck open in two places and it's just getting worse so I am rying to treat it myself due to the fact that the nearest vet is 2 hours away and they are very expensive. I don't really have the time to take off of work to take her either. So my question is if it's not mange, what is it? How do I treat her? I've given her baths and put tree tea oil on her once a week and it started to get better on her face but that's it so far!

Dear Catherin,

It would be helpful to have a little more information about your dog. What veterinary care has your dog received? vaccinations, worming, parasite checks? What have you given? Including topicals? What kind of food and water do give your dog?

Best regards,
