I ordered Arthro-IonX for my 10 1/2 year old purebred German Rottweiler and just received my order. She has severe arthritis in her right front shoulder and down her leg. She is not putting any weight on it and struggles to move. She was on Previcox and that didn't touch the pain. As of today, she is on Tramadol 100mg 3 times per day and is starting steroid pills tomorrow. Are steroids and Tramadol going to create a bad interaction? I am going to show her vet before I do give it to her, but I would like your opinion because you know your products. Please tell me what you think.

Dear Sophia,

You can use Arthro-IonX along with other medications because it is homeopathic in nature and does not contain large molecules that will interact with other substances. It helps to hydrate the cells, reduce inflammation and thereby decrease pain. It stimulates the body to begin repairing the joints. Hopefully you will notice a decrease in the level of pain and you will be able to decrease the level of the prescription medications. Your veterinarian can advise you on this because neither drug can be discontinued abruptly without negative consequences.

Because of the severity of the condition you might also consider doing a few other things in case you haven't already tried them. I would feed a grain-free diet; give digestive enzymes with each meal and a probiotic, MSM, and a fish oil supplement daily. Together with Arthro-IonX it has a synergistic effect for faster results. Arthro-IonX will help the body utilize the supplements better.

Please let us know how you progress and if you have any other questions.
