Dear Dr's, I have an 8 year old Yorkie and he suffers from allergies, he scratches his body and loosing hair, I am concern because I have been taking him to 2 different doctors and they just wan to give him steroids and some pills for the hitching that do not work. I also took him to a dermatologist who seemed that he was more interested in getting $$ out of our pockets than to really help, can you suggest a good Dermatologist that can help my Dog in Broward FL or what can I do to relieve his itching. Thank you in advance.

Dear Diego,

DERMA-IONX is helpful for many skin conditions. It is an oral homeopathic product which stimulates the enzyme systems in the body that aids the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. What sets it apart from most homeopathics is that it is in an oligotherapeutic mineral base which has had a charge added to it.

Initially I would give a half dose of DERMA-IONX on the breakfast and supper food. After there are signs of improvement you can give a whole dose once a day. I would also give Probiotics to aid the immune system. OMEGA 3,6,9 is also helpful in soothing skin and improves coat quality.

Diet can also influence the skin. What do you feed your dog?

Acupuncture can be helpful for allergies, too. If you check the website you can find the names of veterinary acupuncturists trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in your state. The school is located in Florida so hopefully you will find someone in your area.

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you along the way.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
