Is there a safe OTC pain killer for elderly cat with broken tooth? He is a stray and I took him to vet (FIV is negative, no fleas, or mites). Vet pointed out the tooth but said he did not seem to be in pain at the time. Today he is, thanks

Dear Barb,

I would try PROMAXOL for the pain. You do not need to worry about it's side effects as with other NSAIDS. It would also be good to give probiotics.

Please let us know how your cat does.
