Is Derma-IonX safe for a 9 1/2 year old diabetic cat? She is not on insulin now and her diabetes is managed by diet. She cannot take steroids any more and she's recently started licking and chewing excessively. She has no fleas or ticks. I was advised to give her Children's Benadryl but haven't been successful in getting it in her. I've also read that the Benadryl is hard on her organs so I haven't pushed the meds because of that. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks so much!

Dear Robin,

DERMA-IONX is safe to use in diabetic patients. You might want to look at some of our products to help the skin. DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9. Together with DERMA-IONX it produces a synergistic effect. I would also suggest that you give your cat only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. As for diet,it is important to avoid dry food in diabetic cats. Canned food would be better because dry food puts more stress on the pancreas.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions or to let us know how you are doing.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
