I am looking for an alternative to Rimadyl for my "almost" 15 year old Chow. He's been on Rimadyl for 1.5 years and I would like to found something more natural.

Will Arthro-IonX help relieve is discomfort yet make him comfortable?

Please advise!

Dear Joann,

Arthro-IonX is a safe alternative to Rimadyl, but you can also use it concurrently and gradually decrease the dose as you see improvements. Arthro-IonX offers symptom relief but healing takes time, so it will be necessary to use Arthro-IonX on a regular basis for a while. The good thing is that it won't cause stomach irritation or liver damage with long-term use as NSAIDs can. It provides oligotherapeutic minerals that help stimulate enzyme systems in the body that help with healing. This is important for a geriatric dog. In addition, I like to give digestive enzymes with meals, probiotics, and a high quality fish oil supplement daily. Together with Arthro-IonX there is a synergistic effect. Please let us know if we can help you further.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
