My 8 yr. old Jack Russell had pain in his hind leg and the vet put him on Rimadyl 25mg. He was due for physical exam, so I took him 9 days later. After 2 days they told me about his liver and stop using Rimadyl. Put him on Clavamox and Flagyl and they called, LM, to say it went up some. I'm waiting to hear from her. I know how serious this is, but could he fully recover? I was never told of any side effects, no exam or screening was done before giving him Rimadyl. Do you recommend Alternative meds.? Thank you, Kelly

Dear Kelly,

Arthro-IonX is a safe alternative to decrease pain and inflammation in both the liver and the leg.

I would also use probiotics such as Purina's Forti Flora to decrease the workload on the liver and restore the gut from the Flagyl and Clavamox. Please let us know how you do or if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Dr. Char
