Health Questions & Answers

My 10 year old Shi Tzu (Pip) underwent a complicated operation in 2012 for adrenal carcinoma (he lost a kidney in the process) and since then he has had numerous skin infections every few weeks, including MRSA. He has been given so many antibiotics (he currently has another staph infection and is on Zeniquin -50 mg daily). I don't feel that his little body can fight any more of these infections an he seems to be getting weak now. I feed him nothing but wholesome organic human food and supplements. I love this little dog so much and am full of anxiety and despair because I can't cure him of these resistant infections. Nothing seems to help. My holistic vet has given him colloidal silver drops and sulfur drops, but still he suffers. Is there anything you can suggest? Thank you for any advice.

Dear Judy,

I am sorry you have been through so much with Pip. You might want to look at some of our products to help stimulate healing. DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces inflammation, promotes healing, and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include Canine probiotics, vitamin C, MSM, and Omega 3,6,9. Together with DERMA-IONX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a grain free diet and make sure there are minerals in your supplements to ensure your home prepared diet is balanced.

If the silver isn't enough to control the infection, I would give an essential oil blend by Young Living Essential Oils called Thieves. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
