Health Questions & Answers

My big boy William was rescued last year in Texas and we brought him with us to Florida. After years on the streets, he is now neutered, his decayed and broken teeth removed and we had him declawed (before we discovered he tests FIV positive) Within weeks of moving to Florida, William started scratching, licking and biting himself. He's been on a special diet for more than two months, but is miserable and worse than ever. If we give him this, might he suffer an allergic reaction? Do cats like the taste? I feel desperate to help my big boy. He's already been through so much.

Dear Joanne,

What does William eat? DERMA-IONX will not illicit an allergic reaction. It is easy to give because it is fairly neutral in taste. Initially I prefer to give 10 drops twice daily on the breakfast and supper food. After improvement is seen then I give 20 drops once daily. I also like to give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to support the body.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
