My puppy has been chasing his tail and biting at his legs and body. I bathe him regularly, once a week because he sleeps with me. While I was brushing him to see what was bothering him, I saw so much dandruff, very dry skin all over him. Is he getting this from outside? He loves running and playing outside. Can you tell what I'm doing wrong, or how to fix this? -Sealesta-

Dear Sealesta,

Using a shampoo weekly could be drying his coat out. What do you use, make sure to not use human shampoo? Also be sure to rinse well. Do you give any supplements. Some fish oil would be helpful. We have an oral Omega 3,6,9 that can help moisturize the skin from the inside. We also have a homeopathic called Derma-IonX that addresses many skin issues. It helps to reduce itchiness and helps the skin feel better. A diet can be an important factor. What kind of food do you feed, grain free is best with fish or turkey as the protein? Looking forward to your reply.
