Our male golden retriever is approximately 30 inches tall at shoulders. Large boned huge head and paws. He is 170 pounds. We have been trying to get him to lose weight. I walk him daily. I feed him 4 cups of food. No table scraps. We are stumped. Had him tested for thyroid...negative. After owning dogs our entire life we have never had weight issues like this. He is also afraid of storms and loud noises, seems to be a bit anxiety when we leave for work...he drinks excessive water, burps and vomits daily. Any suggestions?

Dear Kim,

What kind of food and treats do you give him I would feed a grain free food. The type of protein in it is important, too. Does he have any allergies? What kind of water does he drink? I would use PROBIOTICS. The wrong gut flora can contribute to weight gain.

Does he tend to be warm or chilly? Where does he like to hang out? Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
