Is there a natural oil to repeal ticks from getting onto cats? For dogs I hear rose germanium oil( pelargonium chapitatum x radens) works great on humans and dogs but never use on cats.I hear lemongrass, works on cats but would like your opinion because vet meds like Frontline, Advantage, etc all send my kitty up the wall.

Dear Linda,

Lemongrass has been used as a repellent on cats. I have been told cats should only get one drop of essential oils per 10 pounds of body weight. You might add the oil to your hands or a wipe and rub onto the coat. I have used Frontline spray on my hunter cat but at a smaller dose.

Best regards,
