My lab is now taking thyroxine for thyroid and is on tramadal 2 tabs bid and some times we also need to add metacam and he is still suffering. I'm willing to try anything, but I wonder how a transition would work from one med to another.

Dear Lisa,

I would use Promaxol for the arthritis and switch to Arthro-IonX once there is some improvement. You can use these homeopathics with other medications and supplements. For general support I would use digestive enzymes, Canine probiotics, and Omega 3,6,9.

Other things that can be used for Cushings include:

Phosphatidyl serine - The canine dose for phosphatidyl serine is 70 mg/ 25 pounds of body weight.

Astragulus - 1-2 drops/lb 3x/day of alcohol tincture

Vitamin C - 250 mg/ day

Gingko biloba - 1 drop/lb 2x/day

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
