Hi, we have a 10 year old female yellow lab and for pretty much all her life. She  does not like us lifting her ear flap or basically doing anything with her ears. I know there is a lot of product out there to help clean them for dogs that let you touch their ears or put something in their ears, but can you suggest any product that she can take orally that will help with her ears. (Being a lab no problem giving her stuff orally!) I have switched her to a grain free food and the redness in her ears has cleared up, but they still smell and she shakes her head a lot. I read that we could put olive oil in her ear, but she just goes absolutely nuts when you do anything to her ears. Thanks for your help! I have been using Arthro-IonX for a few years now for her and it has helped her tremendously with her hind leg since she hurt it. We avoided having to go through the trauma and high expense of an operation on her just from using this miracle product! Thank you! -Diane-

Dear Diane,

Derma-IonX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, and promotes healing of the skin. The supplements I use along with it include Canine probiotics, vitamin C, MSM, and Omega 3,6,9. Together it works well with Derma-IonX. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride.

To help keep ears dry I use a product called Zn 4.5 Otic. However, you will need to squeeze the liquid into the ear. You might consider taking her to your veterinarian to have the ears cleaned just to get them dry.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
