We recently adoopted a 14 week old Border mix from a rescue shelter. He seems to be scratching under his front leg, his ears, and back paw. His ears were checked and no infection.. The vet is recommending skin scraping for possibility of mites. I was wondering if we bathed him with a mite shampoo or any other advise?

If you think there are any mites present, you can bathe your dog in our Defendex shampoo. It is nontoxic and very effective again mites and fleas. I like having it around to use at the first sign that there could be a problem. If you need to decrease itchiness you might also try our homeopathic skin product Derma-IonX. It can be added to the food or water or also be applied topically to any irritated areas. In addition I like to give a digestive enzyme, probiotics, MSM, and a fish oil supplement. I also recommend that you avoid using water that contains chlorine or fluoride for drinking and bathing. Please let us know how you do or if you have any other questions.
Best wishes,
