My puppy (4 months old) has been ill for the last two weeks and i dont know what to do. I took him to the vet and unless I have $500-$1000 they cant really tell me anything. However for $200 they told me he didn't have parvo or worms. He is very lethargic, drooling and just plain out of it. His stool is good, he urinates fine, drinks water, not throwing up. He is just out of it. I'm so sad because I can't afford the money for the vet but I can't stand seeing him in this pain. Please help.

Dear Jammie,

Did your veterinarian do a chem panel and CBC for bloodwork? You might want to call a country vet for a quote. Generally they are more reasonable. With your limited details provided I would give a grain-free dog food, DIA-IONX, MSM, vitamin C, Canine probiotics, and Omega 3,6,9.

Has your puppy received any vaccinations, heartworm preventative, or flea and tick products recently? Or have you seen any evidence there was an encounter with any or toads or snakes? Please keep us updated. I hope your puppy feels better soon.

Best regards,
