Health Questions & Answers

I have a 10 mo old border collie, he gets these bumps, like pimples(no pus) or like mosquito bites, they feel hard & will scab over since he bites at them. It takes awhile for them to go away, only to pop up somewhere else, 1-3 pop up in a spot, mostly on his legs or flank area. They go away eventually only to pop up in another spot. He was checked for mange mites, couldn't find any. He's on a grain free dog food & gets a fish oil supplement daily. I have tried mostly OTC meds for itchy skin irritations & hot spots. He gets shampooed (occasionally) with with a Benzoyl Peroxide or an oatmeal type shampoo..any suggestions? I've used your product Dia-iIonX for my older dog who was diabetic, and it seemed to work for him until he just got so bad we had to have him put down last summer. Thanks for any help you can give me. Diana

Dear Diana,

You might want to look at some of our products to help heal the skin. Derma-IonX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include Canine probiotics, vitamin C, MSM, and Omega 3,6,9 (or you can continue with your fish oil). I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a grain free diet that uses fish or turkey as the protein source. These are considered to be more cooling for the body.

Defendex shampoo which is nontoxic washes away debris and soothes the skin. Using these products is a simple and effective way of helping resolve a difficult condition. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
