My dog, Tory, weights 55 lbs. and I give her 3/4 tsp. twice a day of Arthro-IonX. Can I increase the dosage? I use only glass to mix med with cat food but cat food comes in metal can. Can that affect the potency? Maybe I should mix it with poached fish or egg? Doubtful that Tory would take it plain. I allow at least 3 hours before I give her Cosequin DS. Tory is 13 years old. I have seen a little improvement since adding Arthro-IonX. Tory has very limited mobility Without Cosequin DS so I decided to add Arthro-ionx as an adjunct to her Cosequin DS as Tory is at her maximum amount recommended for Cosequin DS but Tory is still compromised-having difficulty ambulating. Any suggestions? THANK YOU!

Dear Teresa,

I would try a 1/2 teaspoon on the canned cat food three times daily. Because the food comes in a can will not diminish the product. The problem is when the product contacts metal directly. In addition I would also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to reduce inflammation. Diet is important in reducing inflammation too. What kind of food and treats do you give? If the nerves are affected I give a choline supplement called GeriForm.

I find veterinary chiropractic and/ or acupuncture very helpful to improve mobility. Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,
