My dog scratches alot, bites on his rear area, vet says allergy but his hair is coming off, he does this every year during summer,, seems to ease up in cooler weather. I do find a flea every now and then, but not covered in them, He was getting shots but they didn't seem to work, now I am at a loss. I bathe him every two days with green tea goat soap, spray him with vinegar and use Vitamin E oil. Nothing seems to get rid of it, I need help.

Dear Linda,

DERMA-IONX is helpful for many skin conditions. It is an oral homeopathic product which stimulates the enzyme systems in the body that aids the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. What sets it apart from most homeopathics is that it is in an oligotherapeutic mineral base which has had a charge added to it.

Initially I would give a half dose of DERMA-IONX on the breakfast and supper food. After there are signs of improvement you can give a whole dose once a day. I would also give Probiotics to aid the immune system. OMEGA 3,6,9 is also helpful in soothing skin and improves coat quality.

Diet can also influence the skin. What do you feed your dog?

You might want to try DEFENDEX shampoo. It contains essential oils and homeopathics. I think it would also be helpful to treat your environment to eliminate fleas. Even one flea bite can start the allergy reaction. I use a product for the house that contains an insect growth inhibitor to prevent eggs from hatching into fleas.

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you along the way.

Best regards,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
