Health Questions & Answers

Hello- glad I stumbled onto your site. I have an eight lb. adorable 5 yr old Canine baby. He has luxating patella in all 4 legs but until recently had not had problems. He doesn't want to run any more, but walks fine. However I saw him licking one leg for a day or two so I'm assuming he has some discomfort. I've got an appointment with Vet but am searching for a supplement that will help build up cartilage and joint health. Although thrilled to read about your Arthro-ionx for pain, will it also do what chondroitin and glucosamine would do for protecting him from decline with this problem? I would be thrilled to hear back from you as we love our babies, feed them a raw diet, omegas, probiotics and herbal vitamins so as to avoid using drugs and their side effects if we can help it all. Thanks so much! Marie Bluth

It will be interesting to find out what your veterinarian determines. The patella is the knee cap so a dog has only two in the rear legs. The front legs have elbows. I would have a veterinary chiropractor check your dog. Your dog might have injured the front end if the rear legs gave out. I have found that chiropractic can even be helpful for luxating patellas by lessening the stress on the knees. If that doesn't help enough, surgery on the knee can help stabilize the knee so it doesn't get out of the groove. I would use both ARTHRO-IONX and a glucosamine/ chondroitin supplement. The homeopathic can help reduce inflammation and pain and help the body to use the glucosamine/ chondroitin better. Please let us know how you do.
