I am a volunteer at a local pet shelter. A kitten, four weeks old, has lice. I gave it a Dawn bath then a bath using a shampoo for lice treatment in cats/kittens. I also used a flea comb but the lice are not easily removed like fleas. The Vet tech said the lice shampoo was not very effective. What can I do for this little kitten to remove the lice.

Dear Patricia,

You could try DEFENDEX shampoo (very diluted) and use the provided fine toothed comb daily. You might also sprinkle a little organic diatomaceous earth into the fur. Be sure to avoid having anyone including the kitten inhale the dust.
