We were going to put the Derma-IonX in our cats food when I read on the back a concern about giving to pregnant or nursing cats. We happen to feed ferals and give leftover wet food (along with other food) to them. We get them spayed and neutered, however, there always seems to be a new arrival (we live close to a farm). Is it safe to still give the leftover food to them with the derma-ionx in it? Thank you, Tricia

Dear Tricia~

It should be OK. It is standard protocol to say do not give to pregnant or nursing individuals. The reason for adding to canned food though is that you are hoping for the intended recipient to consume the whole dose. When adding to the water usually part of it gets thrown away when the water gets changed so that is why I add it to food.

You can also add it a little water and syringe into the mouth.
