Health Questions & Answers

I have two pomeranians, one of which we have been told has tested positive for diabetes. We are seeing a specialist for her next Monday.

2 questions.

Is dia-ionx safe to give to our diabetic dog even before seeing the specialist?

Is it safe to have our non diabetic dog drink water that has dia-ionx in it?

Thanks, Mike

Dear Mike,

It is safe to use before seeing the specialist and it is safe for your other dog. However, I prefer to give it with food or diluted and syringed into the mouth so that you know the one who needs it has actually consumed it. The food method or treat is good assuming your dog eats the food all up before the other gets to it. Please let us know what happens with your appointment.

Best regards,
Dr. Char
