Dr. Char,

I just ordered Dia-Ionx to try for my 7-year-old lab, who was recently diagnosed with type 1 DM, but I also have a 4-year-old non-diabetic lab. Even though I have 2 water bowls they constantly drink out of each others. Can the Dia-Ionx just be administered strictly p.o. or does it have to be applied to the water bowl also?

I think it is easiest to add it to the food so that you know that it was consumed. You can also dilute the serving in a little water and syringe directly into the mouth. It would not hurt the other dog if he drank it form the water bowl, but you would not know how much each dog had gotten. Please keep us updated.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
