I would like to know if my dog does indeed have an ingrown hair, which is underneath his tail? I am assuming that it is because he is usually smelling that area. I have checked it out and it seems to be a very small bump which I haven't noticed in the past. He does not have ticks nor is it a bite...for the simple reason that it has been there for over 3 weeks. He does have an appointment with his groomer next week and I know that it was not there when he was groomed 2 months ago.

Dear Carlotta,

It might be an anal gland that is full. If there are allergies the gland tends to fill more quickly. Sometimes they can get infected. Hopefully it is not more serious than that.

If they are infected or there are allergies making the situation worse, DERMA-IONX would be helpful. I would also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 which can help the body to heal.

Please let us know what you find out.

Best regards,
