Our golden is 6 years old, for the first 2-3 years he was fine when going to the groomer. Now for the past 2-3 years everytime he goes he gets hot spots. I thought it was the groomer, but NO, we have brought him to probably 6 different ones. We even gave him bathes at home and he still gets them. Everybody (groomer and us) use hypoallergentic shampoo etc. We have even given him Benadryl and /or Predisone for a week before and a week after and he still gets them. And he is dried as much as possible one groomer even dried him then kept him in a big kennel for 4 hours with dryers on and he still got 4 pretty big ho spots. We have a below ground swimming pool and have noticed the few times he has went in there he has NOT gotten them. Its ONLY when he gets bathed. Please HELP we have tried everything we think and nobody has an answer.

Dear Joni,

Does your shampoo contain sodium lauryl sulfate or a similar chemical?

Best regards,
