Health Questions & Answers

Hi I am having tremendous issues with my dogs side effects of diabetes. He is on 2 units of insulin in the am and 3 units in the pm. He is still urinating SO MUCH, feels bad and is quite aggressive when he feels bad. He is only 6 years old and has had steroid injections once a year for the past 5 years and my vet thinks this is the cause of the diabetes---little did I know this would happen! He is 24 lbs and I';D like to start making his dog food to assure there are no dyes or preservatives in his food. Through research, it seems the best for him would be brown rice with chicken and vegetables, and perhaps a boiled egg with the shell crushed. Would you have any other suggestions for me? Thank you so much, Nancy

Dear Nancy,

For other diet suggestions you can read more in Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health For Dogs and Cats. In my copy it is on page 329. Your plan will work but you need to keep the ratios correct. I also put the vegetable in a blender to make the particle size smaller.

Have you tried DIA-IONX? It might help with his symptoms and make him feel better. The other supplements I would give are probiotics, Omega 3,6,9, MSM, and Vitamin C. The first two are available from Vetionx and the other ones you can get at a health food store.

Please let us know ow you do or if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
