I have a 4 year old Shih-Tzu male that I have had for 2 years. He is a happy dog but when she hears a loud pop (fireworks /gun shot sound ) he panics and trie to scratch his way into the wall under the bed no consoling him. A shy dog. I have 2 others all 10 lbs they get along fine, but recently out on walks the Shih-Tzu is growling and barking getting in the face of other dogs, no broblem in the past nothing has changed, which is best Anxietrex or Chillout Chews, I would really prefer the chewable. Thanks.

Dear Kelly,

Chillout Chews would be good to give when expecting loud noises such as thunderstorms, gunshots, and fireworks. The change in behavior might be better addressed by ANXIETREX. I like to give ANXIETREX, a half dose twice daily until I notice a slight change and then switch to a whole dose once daily. I find adding it to the food is easiest way to initially administer it. I like to also give Chillout Chews when there is a major stressor. If you know there will be fireworks I would give a chew before it starts. If there is a gunshot try to give a chew as soon as possible. It usually works quickly if you can get the dog to consume it.

What do you feed your dog, give as treats, and medications. What kind of water do you give? Has your dog had a physical this year? There might be an underlying health issue? Looking forward to your reply.
