My champion bred English Lab loses most of her coat after weaning puppies. This time I have her on fosters and smith Vitacoat Plus and Brewers yeast w/ biotin. Also twice weekly shampoos with KetoChlor shampoo. She blew her coat about a month prior to coming in heat, then as soon as she began estrus, her coat came back in. About the same time all my supplements took effect. I'm really hoping she won't "blow" her coat when the puppies begin weaning. So far, she is not shedding, and they are 10 days old. I know I should expect some shedding as natural, but this dog loses most of her hair with bare skin. Any thoughts?

Dear Marcy,

You could try some PROMAXOL which might lessen the abrupt change in hormones. Dealing with hormones is not easy but homeopathy can help modify symptoms. I would also use PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to improve the coat.

Please let us know how she responds.
