My cat has been diagnosed with eosinophilic plaque. My vet uses steroid injections once per month to control. A dermatologic vet specialist had no success as the injections were not successful. She eats hydrolized protein food with no treats, etc. While the steroid (DEPO) controls the disease symptoms I realize it creates problems for the cat with long term use. My cat will not take pills and rejects all the healthy oils. I want to try the Derma-IonX method in her water. Will she taste the difference? And must she drink the entire bowl each day for full effect? If I spray on her plaque (which she licks as it itches badly) is that OK -- will it "burn" her or sooth her? Thank you.

Dear Bob,

I prefer to add DERMA-IONX to the food rather than the water. That way the entire dose is usually consumed. You may also spray small lesions which should soothe them.

Do you give probiotics? Have you had regular stool checks done for parasites?

Best regards,
