We have a 7 month old English Bulldog that has a deformed L7 disc in his back and up until we did acupuncture last week, lost use of his hind end and was dragging himself on the front end. He’s now walking but very weak. He’s on daily Metacam dose now and I’m wondering about the product Promaxol??

Dear Lynn,

Promaxol would be a good choice for your Bulldog because it helps with pain and inflammation, yet doesn't irritate the stomach. Our goal is to use the smallest dosage of NSAIDs to keep him pain free.

To offset the change in flora that results from using Metacam I would also give digestive enzymes and probiotics with his food. We might also want to evaluate the diet you have been feeding.

Please let us know how you progress and if we can help you further.

Sincerely,
Dr. Char
