Health Questions & Answers

My dog is a St. Bernard, 136 lbs. He has had surgery on both elbows for un-united anchoneal process and is extremely sore. He has extensive arthritis in each elbow. He lives on Zubrin but I am looking to get him off of NSAIDs. Can this product replace the NSAIDS? I need to know as I won’t take him off or switch him if it doesn’t treat this extensive of arthritis.

Dear MariAnne,

I would add Arthro-IonX to your protocol and see how much pain relief your dog gets. As things improve then you can wean off the NSAIDs. It takes time to actually heal the joints and so you need to know that you will need to continue with the Arthro-IonX for a while. Because NSAIDs can produce side effects the goal is to use them sparingly. I usually suggest that you take a holistic approach for faster results and also use digestive enzymes with meals, probiotics, and a high quality fish oil. Hopefully we can get some improvement quickly. Please let us know how you do and if we can offer any more suggestions.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
