For both of your dogs you may want to give Derma-IonX, which is an oral homeopathic product that stimulates the enzyme systems in the body and can reduce itching and inflammation, promote healing of the skin, and help with assimilation of nutritional components in the diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include digestive enzymes, probiotics, vitamin C, and fish oil. Together with Derma-IonX, it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. It can also help to detoxify the body. I would also suggest that you give your dogs only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains fluoride or chlorine. For the dietary modifications, you might want to try a grain free diet for a while. If the goopy ears are still really bad, see if you can get Zymox ear drops. It works well on chronic ear infections. If you can find a veterinary chiropractor, that could be helpful to both dogs. It can help the ears to drain. Also, there are often changes in the neck with thyroid problems and so it would be worth checking out both dogs.
